Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today is Dec. 8, and it is a Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. For Catholics, it is a big feast; it is dogma and doctrine of the Roman Catholic church.

“No sin would touch her so that she would be a fitting and worthy vessel of the Son of God. The Immaculate Conception does not refer to the virginal conception and the birth of Christ, but rather to Mary’s being conceived without inheriting Original Sin.”

United States Catholic Catechism for adults, 142-143.

Blessed Virgin Mary is the Patroness of the United States of America. Today, let us bring our prayers to God through her to keep us all safe from dangers, keep us all healthy, and protect us from covid 19. Despite struggles, may we all have the courage to always choose to do good in everything we do, strive to be a bearer of peace and unity in our family, friends, and community for a better society.
